This refreshing treat relies solely on fresh mint leaves to create an invigoratingly aromatic flavor that no extract can replicate. With minimal ingredients and a quick preparation time, this sorbet offers a light, vibrant, and cooling experience that will revive your senses. Ideal for serving at gatherings or enjoying as a personal indulgence, it’s a simple yet sophisticated addition to any dessert repertoire.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 150 g feuilles de menthe fraîche
  • 200 g sucre
  • 1 jus de citron (environ 23 cuillères à soupe)
  • 300 ml eau

Instructions

  1. Clean and dry 150 g of fresh mint leaves, then finely chop them to release their aroma. Place the chopped mint in a bowl.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine 200 g of sugar and 300 ml of water. Stir over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved, about 3 to 5 minutes. Do not bring to a boil.
  3. Let the sugar-water mixture cool slightly before pouring it over the chopped mint in the bowl. Add the juice of 1 lemon and stir well to combine all ingredients.
  4. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish, spreading it evenly. Freeze for at least 4 hours, checking to ensure it's firm yet scoopable.
  5. Before serving, use a fork to fluff the top of the sorbet. Serve in bowls, optionally garnished with mint leaves.
