Perfect for a family dessert or an afternoon treat, these moist apple cakes are easy to make and are sure to impress. The secret to their irresistible flavor lies in sautéing the apples in butter, which enhances their sweetness and prevents the cakes from becoming soggy. With just 15 minutes of preparation, you can whip up these delicious desserts using simple ingredients found in your pantry. Serve them warm or at room temperature, and enjoy a wholesome treat that pleases both kids and adults alike!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pommes
  • 100 g beurre
  • 150 g sucre
  • 2 oeufs
  • 200 g farine
  • 1 sachet de levure chimique (environ 11 g)
  • 1 c. à café de cannelle
  • 1 pincée de sel

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F) to ensure even baking.
  2. 2. Peel and dice the apples into 1 cm cubes. In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt 30g of butter until it is slightly foamy. Add the diced apples and sauté for 5 minutes until lightly golden and tender. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. 3. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt to avoid lumps.
  4. 4. In another bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy, approximately 3 minutes. Add the remaining melted butter and the cooled sautéed apples, mixing well.
  5. 5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and gently fold together with a spatula until just combined, leaving some flour visible to prevent over-mixing.
  6. 6. Grease a muffin tin and fill each cup about ¾ full with the batter.
  7. 7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. 8. Let the cakes cool in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Keywords: Ensure the apples are cooked just long enough to soften but not disintegrate. This will help maintain the structure of the cakes. For added flavor, consider mixing in walnuts or raisins. If you prefer a sweeter taste, you can top with powdered sugar or serve with whipped cream.
