Ingredients

Scale
  • 240 g farine d'épeautre
  • 10 g levure boulangère
  • 1 cuillère à café sucre
  • 1 cuillère à café sel
  • 180 ml lait végétal
  • 2 cuillères à soupe huile d'olive

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine 240 g of spelt flour, 10 g of instant yeast, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Mix the dry ingredients until well blended.
  2. Create a well in the center of the dry mixture and add 180 ml of lukewarm plant-based milk and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Stir gently until a sticky dough forms, ensuring it pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  3. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough into a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Once the dough has risen, knead it again briefly to release air bubbles. Divide it into 4 equal portions and shape each into a ball. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.
  6. Bake the buns for 15-18 minutes, or until they are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. For best preservation, store the buns at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Avoid refrigeration to maintain their moisture.
