Description

If you’re looking for a delicious bread that can be made in just 10 minutes (5 minutes prep, 5 minutes cooking), you’re in the right place! This quick skillet bread is soft, slightly tangy, and perfect for a fast breakfast or a delightful snack. Made without yeast, it uses yogurt for moisture, ensuring a tender texture with a golden crust. Anytime you need a bread fix but lack the time or yeast, this recipe has you covered. Enjoy warm slices with your favorite spreads or fruits for a satisfyingly simple treat. Ideal for gatherings or just a delightful self-indulgence, this bread is as versatile as it is tasty!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 250 g farine de blé
  • 1 cuillère à café sel
  • 150 g yaourt nature
  • 1 cuillère à soupe huile d'olive

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine 250 g all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon salt. Mix well until evenly distributed.
  2. Add 150 g plain yogurt and 1 tablespoon olive oil to the flour mixture. Stir with a spatula until a sticky dough forms. If the dough feels too dry, add a little water, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
  3. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Gently knead for about 1 minute until smooth. Form the dough into a disk approximately 2 cm thick.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the dough disk in the skillet. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the bottom is golden and bubbles begin to form on the surface.
  5. Carefully flip the bread using a spatula. Cook for another 5 minutes until both sides are golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  6. Remove from the skillet and let it cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before slicing. This bread is best served warm or can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.

Keywords: Use plain yogurt for the best results; Greek yogurt works too but avoid liquid types. Adjust cooking time depending on your stove’s heat settings; make sure to preheat the skillet well for a nice crust. For a flavored variation, consider adding herbs or spices to the dough.
