Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 rouleau de pâte feuilletée
  • 150 g de fromage de chèvre crémeux
  • 100 g de figues fraîches
  • 2 cuillères à soupe de miel
  • 1 jaune d'œuf

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C.
  2. In a bowl, mash the creamy goat cheese. Add the chopped figs and honey, mixing until well combined, but still retaining some fig pieces.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 8 squares, each about 10 cm on each side.
  4. Place a tablespoon of the goat cheese and fig mixture in the center of each pastry square, being careful not to overfill.
  5. Fold the corners of each square towards the center and press to seal.
  6. Arrange the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. In a small bowl, whisk the egg yolk with water and brush the mixture over the pastries for a golden finish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.
  8. Allow the pastries to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Serve warm.

Keywords: For added crunch, sprinkle some chopped walnuts on top of the filling before sealing the pastries. If you prefer a vegan option, substitute the goat cheese with a plant-based cream cheese alternative and skip the egg yolk wash, using plant milk instead. These pastries can be assembled in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking.
