Ingredients
- 500 g de viande hachée de bœuf
- 1 œuf
- 100 g de pain rassis, émietté
- 50 g de Parmigiano-Reggiano fraîchement râpé
- 1 gousse d’ail, hachée
- sel, au goût
- poivre, au goût
- 400 g de tomates concassées en conserve
- 1 oignon, haché
- 2 cuillères à soupe d’huile d’olive
- 1 cuillère à café d’origan séché
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, crumbled bread, Parmigiano-Reggiano, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined; avoid overworking the mixture. Form into golf-ball-sized meatballs, about 12 in total.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Brown the meatballs for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until they are golden all over. Remove meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent and fragrant. Stir in crushed tomatoes and dried oregano; let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for 25-30 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F).
- After cooking, let the meatballs rest in the sauce for 5 minutes before serving to enhance their flavor.
