Description

Indulge in the delightful experience of Plant-Based Cheese Beignets, where a perfectly crispy exterior meets a wonderfully gooey interior. These savory treats are ideal for any gathering, whether as an appetizer, part of a picnic, or a casual dinner. Made with high-quality plant-based cheese that melts beautifully without being overly greasy, these beignets will amaze both vegans and non-vegans alike. They are quick to prepare, taking only around 30 minutes from start to finish, and they maintain their crunchy texture for days. Enjoy them hot and fresh, paired with your favorite dipping sauces, or let your creativity shine by serving them alongside vibrant, fresh salad. A guaranteed hit at any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 250 g fromage végétal
  • 150 g farine tout usage
  • 150 ml eau tiède
  • 1 cuillère à café levure chimique
  • 1 cuillère à café sel
  • 500 ml huile de friture

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the plant-based cheese, all-purpose flour, salt, baking powder, and warm water. Mix with a spatula until you have a slightly sticky but not liquid dough. If the dough is too dry, add a touch more water.
  2. Heat the frying oil in a deep pan or fryer to 175°C (350°F). Test the oil by dropping a small amount of dough; it should float and bubble upon contact.
  3. Using two spoons, form small balls of dough, about the size of a walnut. Ensure there's enough space between the beignets when frying.
  4. Carefully place the beignets into the hot oil in small batches, cooking for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and airy. Ensure they float while cooking.
  5. Use a slotted spoon to remove the beignets, placing them on paper towels to drain excess oil before serving. Best enjoyed warm but will still retain their crispiness at room temperature for up to 48 hours in an airtight container.
