  • 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Dice 2 cups of apples into small, bite-sized cubes.
  3. Open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced apples and biscuit pieces. Toss them with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  5. Spread the apple and biscuit mixture evenly into the greased baking dish.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of melted unsalted butter with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Pour this mixture evenly over the apple and biscuit layer.
  7. If desired, sprinkle 1/2 cup of chopped pecans over the top.
  8. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes.
  9. Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes.
