Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage (green or purple)
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream and mayonnaise. Add lime juice and hot sauce, adjusting the hot sauce to your taste. Stir in minced garlic, and season with salt and pepper. Mix until well combined and set aside in the fridge.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated. Let marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until pink and opaque. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and warm the tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable. Alternatively, wrap in foil and heat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
  5. Place 2-3 shrimp in the center of each tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage, avocado slices, and drizzle with the prepared sauce. Finish with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice.
  6. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side. Enjoy with tortilla chips and salsa for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce in the sauce to suit your spice preference.
  • Feel free to customize toppings with your favorite ingredients, such as diced tomatoes or jalapeños.
