Description
Experience the magic of perfectly cooked steak combined with a rich and velvety Parmesan cream sauce. This dish elevates any dinner occasion into something extraordinary.
Ingredients
- Ribeye or sirloin steak
- Unsalted butter
- Fresh garlic cloves
- Heavy cream
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt
- Pepper
- Cayenne pepper (optional)
- Fresh parsley or thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Start by taking your steak out of the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps it come to room temperature, ensuring even cooking. Pat it dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Once it’s sizzling, add the steak. For a perfect medium-rare, cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (130°F for medium-rare).
- During the last minute of cooking, add the whole garlic cloves to the skillet. Spoon the melted butter over the steak and garlic to infuse that wonderful flavor.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, making it juicy and tender.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the heavy cream, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it simmer for a minute or two until slightly thickened.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste. Continue to stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Slice the rested steak against the grain and serve it topped with the creamy Parmesan sauce and garnished with fresh herbs.

Keywords: Look for steaks with good marbling for added flavor and tenderness. If cooking multiple steaks, do it in batches to ensure they sear properly. You can add mushrooms or spinach to the cream sauce for extra flavor.
