Description

Indulge in the comforting flavors of Garlic Butter Beef Bites paired with velvety creamy mashed potatoes. This dish combines tender beef bites sautéed in a rich garlic butter sauce, creating a delightful meal that warms the heart.

Ingredients

  • Beef (sirloin or tenderloin, or flank steak)
  • Unsalted butter
  • Fresh minced garlic
  • Yukon Gold potatoes (or Russet potatoes)
  • Heavy cream
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Fresh herbs (like parsley or thyme)

Instructions

  1. Start by cutting the beef into bite-sized cubes, about 1-inch in size. Season them generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Once hot, add the beef cubes in batches to avoid overcrowding. Sear them for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Return the beef bites to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter. Cook for an additional minute to combine flavors. Sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving.
  5. Peel and chop the potatoes into equal-sized chunks. Place them in a pot of salted cold water and bring to a boil. Cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add in the remaining butter, heavy cream, and grated Parmesan cheese. Mash until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. If you prefer a fluffier texture, a potato ricer can be used for mashing instead of a traditional masher.

Keywords: Let the beef bites rest for a few minutes after cooking to retain their juices. Feel free to add roasted garlic or cream cheese to the mashed potatoes for an extra flavor boost. Pair this dish with steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for added color and nutrition. Consider adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce or a drizzle of balsamic vinegar to the beef bites while cooking.
