This Philly Cheesesteak Tater Tot Casserole combines the mouthwatering flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak with crispy tater tots for a satisfying meal. Perfect for family dinners or game day gatherings, it’s a dish that everyone will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 diced onion
  • 1 diced bell pepper
  • 4 cups frozen tater tots
  • 12 cups shredded cheese (a mix of provolone and mozzarella)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown 1 pound of ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. To the beef, add 1 diced onion and 1 diced bell pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender and fragrant.
  4. Sprinkle in salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. Stir everything together and let it cook for another minute.
  5. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spread the beef and veggie mixture evenly across the bottom. Then, layer about 4 cups of frozen tater tots on top.
  6. Sprinkle 1-2 cups of shredded cheese (a mix of provolone and mozzarella works great) over the tater tots.
  7. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  8. Once it’s out of the oven, let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
