  • Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Description

Indulge in the rich, velvety texture of this Chocolate Orange Cheesecake that perfectly balances creamy chocolate with zesty orange. It’s an experience that will leave your taste buds craving more!

Ingredients

  • Chocolate sandwich cookies
  • Melted butter
  • Cream cheese
  • Granulated sugar
  • Fresh orange zest
  • Fresh orange juice
  • High-quality dark chocolate
  • Eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, combine the crushed chocolate cookies with melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake it for about 10 minutes, then remove it from the oven and let it cool.
  2. While the crust is cooling, chop the dark chocolate into small pieces and melt it gently in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or in the microwave in short bursts. Stir until smooth and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until creamy and smooth. Gradually add in the sugar, mixing well. Then, add the orange zest and juice, and mix until combined. Pour in the melted chocolate and mix until the batter is uniform.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing just enough to incorporate each egg. Be careful not to overmix, as this can incorporate too much air and create cracks during baking.
  5. Once the filling is well combined, pour it over the cooled crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  6. Place the cheesecake in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center has a slight jiggle. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside for an additional hour to cool gradually.
  7. After the cheesecake has cooled, remove it from the oven and let it come to room temperature. Then, cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to firm up.
