Description
Enjoy a creamy fettuccine pasta dish with tender sirloin steak strips, rich heavy cream, and savory Parmesan cheese. This elegant recipe is perfect for a cozy dinner, combining hearty flavors that will delight your taste buds.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with water, add a generous pinch of salt, and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.
- Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions (about 8-10 minutes) until al dente. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta in a colander. Drizzle with a little olive oil to prevent sticking.
- While the pasta cooks, season the sirloin steak strips generously with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
- Add the seasoned steak strips in a single layer. Sear for 2-3 minutes without moving, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from skillet and cover loosely with foil.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in 1 cup of beef broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Slowly add 1 cup of heavy cream, stirring continuously to create a rich sauce.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Simmer for another 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Gradually whisk in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. If too thick, add reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
- Toss the drained fettuccine in the sauce until well coated. Add more reserved pasta water if needed.
- Slice the rested steak into bite-sized pieces and add back to the skillet. Gently toss to combine.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Add more Italian seasoning or red pepper flakes for extra flavor if desired.
- Use tongs to twirl a generous portion of the creamy steak pasta onto each plate.
- Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and additional grated Parmesan if desired.
- Serve immediately and savor the delicious flavors!
Notes
- For a spicier kick, consider adding red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- You can substitute the sirloin steak with chicken or shrimp for a different protein option.
- This dish pairs well with a side salad or garlic bread.
