Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup crab meat, drained and flaked (imitation crab can be used)
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (optional, but highly recommended)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Cooking spray or parchment paper (for baking)
Instructions
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese.
- Add the flaked crab meat to the bowl, breaking up imitation crab into smaller pieces if using.
- Toss in the finely chopped green onions and red bell pepper.
- Sprinkle in the garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and Old Bay seasoning.
- Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Open the can of refrigerated crescent roll dough and unroll it on a clean surface.
- Separate the dough into individual triangles along the perforations.
- Place a spoonful of the crab filling at the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll the triangle from the wide end towards the point, tucking the filling in as you go, and pinch the edges to seal.
- Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or greased with cooking spray, leaving space between each roll.
- In a small bowl, beat the egg until well mixed.
- Brush the beaten egg over the tops of each crescent roll with a pastry brush.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
- Keep an eye on them towards the end to avoid over-baking.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, consider adding a dash of hot sauce to the filling.
- These rolls can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking. Just bake them straight from the freezer, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.
