Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup cooked ham, diced
- 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 package (1 lb) pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice the chicken breasts into thin strips, about 1/2 inch thick.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken strips and season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cooked through and no longer pink in the center. Remove from heat and let cool.
- If using store-bought pizza dough, let it sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle, about 12×16 inches and 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the cooked chicken evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the diced ham over the chicken, followed by the shredded Swiss and mozzarella cheeses.
- Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, then roll the dough from the bottom up to create a log shape. Tuck in the ends to seal.
- Place the rolled Stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the top with the beaten egg and make a few slits on top to allow steam to escape.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
- Slice into thick pieces, about 1-2 inches wide, and serve on a platter garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
