  • Author: sharey
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 servings 1x

Description

This Chicken and Ham Stromboli features tender chicken and diced ham, combined with Swiss and mozzarella cheeses, all wrapped in flaky pizza dough. It’s a cheesy, savory dish perfect for family dinners or gatherings, sure to impress everyone at the table!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup cooked ham, diced
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 package (1 lb) pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the chicken breasts into thin strips, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken strips and season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cooked through and no longer pink in the center. Remove from heat and let cool.
  5. If using store-bought pizza dough, let it sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle, about 12×16 inches and 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Spread the cooked chicken evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  7. Sprinkle the diced ham over the chicken, followed by the shredded Swiss and mozzarella cheeses.
  8. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, then roll the dough from the bottom up to create a log shape. Tuck in the ends to seal.
  9. Place the rolled Stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Brush the top with the beaten egg and make a few slits on top to allow steam to escape.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  12. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  13. Slice into thick pieces, about 1-2 inches wide, and serve on a platter garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the fillings with your favorite ingredients, such as vegetables or different types of cheese.
  • Serve with marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.
